Surie Polex is India’s largest manufacturer of concrete pads. Concrete polishing pads are resin bonded abrasives used for grinding and polishing concrete. Concrete is normally very difficult to polish because it is a very abrasive surface. However, by using diamond powder as the abrasive grain Surie Polex has now made it possible to polish concrete. A further technological leap has been achieved by making the concrete diamond pads suitable for dry grinding and polishing. This makes the entire process much faster and easier for concrete polishing contractors.
The main type of concrete polishing pad is called DCRF. This is also known as a flexible diamond pad. This pad has a hook and loop backer and it fits floor polishing machines, hand polishing machines and slab polishing machines. It is typically used dry although it can be used wet as well. It comes in the standard grit numbers 60, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 3000. Non-standard grit numbers (300, 600, 1200, 5000, 12000 etc. etc.) are also available against order.
Then there are thicker diamond pads like DJ3R and DJ4R which are rigid not flexible. These are mainly for floor polishing applications. They give a much better coverage as compared to the flexible diamond pad and that is why they are the preferred choice of contractors when using planetary floor grinding machines and rotary floor grinding machines.
Another category of diamond pads available is trowel polishing diamond pads. These are available under the name DCRF 6S2. These are specially formulated to work under ride on trowel machines and walk behind trowel machines. These are typically used wet although the final steps are sometimes used dry. They come in the grit numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
